Uyak Bay |

| On the morning of Sunday, May 26, 1929 the tide in Uyak Bay was at half-ebb, and the surface of the bay was calm. The Aleutian has just made a stop at the Larsen Bay cannery, just around the point of land visible on the left. The ship was steaming at 14 knots when she struck the rock lying unseen just beneath the water. |
