This is a fairly ornate teapot that would most likely have been used only in the First Class diving room. These service items are typically silver-plated pewter.
This teapot has the early logo of the Alaska Steamship Company. Sometime in the very early 1930s, the line changed the logo used in all of their advertisements, letterhead, their shipboard china, silverware, and etc. to an Art Deco-inspired “ ALASKA ” prominently displayed in front of a smaller version of the “A” flag. “The Alaska Line” was born!
